A nurse wanted to help Jeff bath and wash Victoria's hair. Unfortunately, her hair hasn't been in the best of condition lately. She's mainly laying in bed, sweating, falling asleep with her hair tied- all things that have lead to her hair being pretty tangled, even matted in a few places. We try to brush it, but she hates it and it's hard to force her to sit through it given everything else she's been going through. On top of that, her hair is starting to fall out a bit. We have been told that yes, she will likely loose it completely in a couple of weeks. We were supposed to get it cut shorter when we were home but that was a shorter stay than we had expected. A nurse more familiar with oncology patients said that if we washed it at the current length/state that it's in, it would make a bigger mess. She told Jeff she would find him scissors!!! Fortunately, Victoria's Auntie Melissa was going to be heading in for a visit. I gave her a pair of scissors from home and told her that she better get to the hospital and cut it before Jeff tried. They gave her a cute bob, which really suites her, and then she got a much needed bath. I hope she is going to be more comfortable and it will be much easier to manage.
The other good news of the day was that we have been moved back to 4 North :)
We are back in a newly renovated, private/isolation room with amazing nurses who are familiar with Leukemia and easier access to her doctors. I also feel like there are less visitors in the halls and the parents there are more conscious of hand washing, mask wearing etc. It's good to be back in our little bubble.
